A figure seen from behind moves into the surf, silhouetted against a low sun. A wave rises across the foreground, scattering droplets around the shoulders and arms. Gold light on the left meets cool blue water on the right, with the horizon just beyond the figure.
There is a particular hesitation before you get fully into the water. Your body is still upright, but the next wave is already arriving. That is the part I return to here. The low viewpoint puts the water in front of you, and the light catches each splash before it falls.
