Cora Kossa is an innovative artist whose work explores the intersection of ancient history, mythology, and modern technology. Through her series "Techne," Cora reimagines classical figures with the tools of our contemporary digital age, blending the divine with the mechanical in striking visual narratives. Her work is characterized by a meticulous attention to detail, combining photographic and digital painting techniques to create pieces that are both timeless and avant-garde: gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus adorned with wires, circuits, and digital screens, symbolizing the fusion of human and machine.
Artist statement
Art, for me, is a means of traversing time and connecting the ancient with the futuristic. In my work, I seek to explore how the myths and legends that shaped our ancestors can be reinterpreted in the context of our current technological landscape. What would Zeus and Athena do if they had access to smartphones? The gods and goddesses of old were, in many ways, reflections of humanity's deepest fears and aspirations; today, technology occupies a similar space in our collective consciousness. Each piece I create is a dialogue between tradition and innovation, where ancient symbols are transformed through the lens of modernity.
